Mathias Edor, MD, PhD (Ghanaian Author, Global Public Health Practitioner) Selected for the Prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship for the 2025 Young African Leader
Ho, Ghana - Mathias Etsey Edor, a Ghanaian Author, an African Medical Practitioner and a Global Public Health Consultant (an Early Career Researcher), has been selected as one of the distinguished recipient’s of the 2025 Mandela Washington Fellowship for theYoung African Leaders, the flagship program of the U.S Government's Young African Leaders Initiative.
Chosen from a highly competitive pool of applicants from across sub-saharan Africa, Dr. Edor has joined 620 dynamic young leaders from the continent for a six-week leadership institute hosted by U.S Universities. He is focusing on Public Management at the Arizona State University (ASU). The Fellowship will provide a platform to sharpen his leadership skills, foster regional and international collaboration, and amplify his efforts in health, ministry, and youth development.
Dr. Edor is the founder and president of the Mathias Edor Ministries, Int'I (MEM) and the Young and Influential Group, Africa (YIG); all faith-drive initiatives aimed at raising a visionary young people. He holds three advanced masters degrees (an MPA from GIMPA, MPH from UG and an MBA from CU), and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health (DPH) with specialisation in Family and Reproductive Health at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho, Ghana.

Since its inception in 2014, the Mandela Washington Fellowship has empowered over 7,000 young African change-makers and remains a key initiative in strengthening democratic institutions, spurring viable economic growth, and enhancing peace and security in and across Africa
