Mathias Etsey Edor is an African Medical Practitioner (MD) and a Global Public Health Practitioner. He’s also an Early Career Researcher specialising in Family & Reproductive Health (FRH). With over 5 years of clinical and research experience, he is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health (DPH) at the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho, Ghana, focusing on the Reproductive Health Consequences of Intergenerational Sexual Partnership.
Dr. Edor holds a Bachelor of Science (Medical Sciences), a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) and Master of Public Health (MPH) with specialisation in Population, Family and Reproductive Health (PFRH) from the University of Ghana (UG).
He holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) with specialisation in Strategic Management, Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact Assessment, and Human Resource Development (SPSG) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with specialisation in Human Resource Management (HRM) from Central University (CU), Ghana.
His expertise spans health policy, monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment, strategic management, human development, preventive and social medicine and primary healthcare.
Mathias is particularly passionate about evidence-based reforms, cross-sector collaboration, sustainable development and healthcare systems strengthening through innovative, community centred interventions.
Currently serving as a Medical Doctor and a Public Health Practitioner at the Ho Teaching Hospital, he is actively involved in health research, policy development, and healthcare system strengthening.
He is also President of the Mathias Edor Ministries, Int’I (MEM), the Founder of the Young and Influential Group (YIG), and Youth Pastor at Fruitful Hill Church, Ghana (FHC), Ho, platforms dedicated to youth empowerment, leadership development, and peer mentorship.
A prolific author of 7 books and counting, Dr. Edor writes on leadership, youth empowerment, purpose, relationships and christian literature. His impactful work has earned him multiple nominations for national awards, including the 2022 40 Under 40 Awards and the 2022 MTN Heroes of Change Initiative.
He was selected for the 2024 Ghana School of Internet Governance (GhanaSIG) under the E-Governance and Internet Governance Foundation for Africa (EGIGFA).
As a 2025 Mandela Washington Fellow, he is committed to advancing primary health and public health leadership, strengthening reproductive health policies and fostering global collaborations to drive sustainable change across Africa.
Beyond his professional career, Dr. Edor is passionate about arts, philosophy, and fitness, believing in intentional living, meaningful connections, and transformational leaderships.
